Your home inventory lives on your device and can sync through your own iCloud account. No GadgetHeads LLC account is required, and there are no ads or tracking.
Information the app handles
- MyHouseFiles organizes your home record into three kinds of information kept on your device: Items (the things you own, with the details you enter and the photos you capture), Important Documents (standalone records such as passports, licenses, and insurance policies), and Files (receipts, warranties, and manuals attached to an item).
- Storage, sync, and security are separate: your record is stored on your device; when you turn on iCloud Sync it is synced and backed up through your own private Apple account; and it is secured by your device passcode and Apple's device and iCloud encryption. MyHouseFiles does not add its own end-to-end encryption on top of Apple's protections.
- Sensitive identifiers — an Important Document's number, its issuing authority, and any images you attach — stay on your device and are never transmitted to GadgetHeads LLC or anyone else, except inside a backup you choose to export yourself.
- You can optionally share a property and its items with people you invite using Apple's CloudKit sharing; that data is handled through Apple iCloud rather than a GadgetHeads LLC server, and your Important Documents are never included in a shared property.
- Recall checks send only a product's manufacturer name (or the item's name if no manufacturer is set) to the U.S. CPSC's public SaferProducts.gov service; the model number is not sent and is matched against the results on your device.
- Barcode scans send only the scanned UPC/EAN to a product-lookup service to retrieve a name, brand, and model; nothing else about you is sent.
- Receipt text recognition and barcode detection run entirely on your device, and PDF or JSON exports happen only when you initiate them — a JSON backup is a plain-text file that includes your Important Document numbers, so store it somewhere safe.
- MyHouseFiles does not require a GadgetHeads LLC account and uses no analytics, advertising, or cross-app tracking.
Purchases
If MyHouseFiles offers an in-app purchase or subscription, Apple processes the transaction. GadgetHeads LLC does not receive your full payment-card information. The app may receive purchase and entitlement status so it can unlock the features you bought.
When you contact support
If you email support@gadgetheads.biz, we receive the address you write from and anything you include in the message, such as screenshots or device details. We use that information to respond to your request and troubleshoot the problem.
Sharing and exports
Features that export, message, or share information act only when you choose to use them. Once you send information to another person or service, that recipient’s privacy practices apply.
Security and your device
We design GadgetHeads LLC apps to use platform protections such as the iOS sandbox, Apple permissions, and iCloud where noted above. No system can guarantee perfect security, so keep your devices, accounts, and backups protected.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy when MyHouseFiles changes. The effective date at the top will show when the current version took effect. Material changes will be reflected here before or when the related feature is released.
